Jaspal brings a wealth of diverse experience spanning over 20 years, with a strong focus on microfinance, social enterprises, startups, fintech, agritech, climate tech, health tech, and nonprofits.
Throughout his career, Jaspal has held significant roles with renowned organizations such as JobsForGood.com, MicrofinanceJobs.com, Grameen Koota (now CreditAccess Grameen), and Community Friendly Movement. He has successfully managed a wide range of independent projects, collaborating with esteemed entities such as Amped Innovation USA, GIZ India, Bihar Innovation Forum, Fair Trade Forum India, International Fund for Agricultural Development, Khadi & Village Industries Commission India, and Belkin International Inc USA.
Jaspal has also founded OpportuneJobs.com, which empowers impactful ventures by connecting exceptional talent in the fields of Microfinance, Social Enterprises, Startups, Climate Change & Sustainability, Fintech, Agritech, Health Tech and Nonprofits.
In recognition of his commitment to social entrepreneurship, Jaspal was honored as a Youth Social Enterprise Initiative Fellow in 2006-2007. He holds a B.E. degree in Computer Science & Engineering from SRMSCET, Bareilly, and is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal.
Ajay Shakya, Co-Founder
Ajay, a seasoned startup professional with 18+ years of experience, boasts a remarkable career trajectory marked by launching and scaling impactful businesses. His journey began as an intrapreneur at Mitra, a non-profit organization supported by the ICICI Group and established by IRMA alumni. During his impactful years, he was instrumental in establishing both online and offline operations for JobsForGood and MicrofinanceJobs (initiatives of Mitra). Ajay's diverse skillset in policy development, business expansion, web content management, online sales, digital marketing, and client relationship management proved crucial in the seamless implementation and success of these ventures, making significant contributions to their missions.
Ajay's entrepreneurial spirit has been recognized by prestigious awards, including the Young Social Enterprise Initiative Fellowship (YSEI) in Malaysia, where he secured substantial funding as one of the top five social entrepreneurs chosen from a global pool of over 800 applicants. He was also nominated for the Paragon100 in 2010, acknowledging his inspiring contributions as one of Asia's top 100 young entrepreneurs and social changemakers. His dedication to social impact was further recognized through a nomination for the Rex Karmaveer Global Fellowship in 2013-14.
